My girlfriend booked a holiday for us in Budapest in Hungary, and to be honest I knew nothing about the place, never ever thought to visit. However I was so glad she picked Budapest, the city is amazing, the history, the scenes, the baths, absolutely splendid. I enjoyed every moment of it and cannot wait to get back there. We stayed in Kapitall Inn, number 1 on trip advisor, and I can see why, very clean, very boutique, good central location, and the most friendliest owner ever, Albert, who made us feel so welcome. Albert was a treasure - he began helping and guiding us even before we landed on Hungarian soil “ Thank you Albert for your hospitality”.
We spent the first day visiting the market where we tried some Hungarian Goulash which was a great meat feast, if that’s your sort of thing. Climbed up Gellerts hill where you get the best view of Budapest which was breathtaking followed by a long beautiful walk to Szechenyi thermal bath which consists of 18 pools 3 outdoor ones and 15 indoor ones. Now this place I did not want to leave - it was open till 10 pm which I still think is too early.
The following day we spent around castle hill which was a beautiful walk where we took in sights such as the Mary Magdalene tower, Fisherman’s Bastion and much more
Unfortunately our stay was only for 2 days, in hindsight I think I could have happily spent 2 weeks there especially in the thermal baths.
I highly recommend this to anyone. Visit Budapest
